Personally, when I hear someone use the word "ki-yo-tee", I am immediately left to deduce that this person is an urbanite, has no personal connection with ki-yotes, or just doesn't know how to pronounce the term. This is because, over the course of my life, I have known countless thousands of coyote hunters and researchers and have never, ever heard anyone who I felt knew what they were talking about in all things coyote pronounce it ki-yo-tee. Thus, I make it a practice to correct this indiscretion when it is uttered. One guy at a time, I'm saving the world.
Lance, I couldn't have stated it any better. And while I'm a few thousand behind you on knowing coyote "callers" , I'm fairly certain that I've met/known as many other types of coyote chasers...LOL.
I always felt that if it wasn't a "city vs country" thing, then it just meant that us here in the middle of the country were the more logical people.
After all, look at the word....COYOTE.....now pronounce the word QUOTE. It's pronounced "qu-ote", not "qu-ot-ee". LOL
