In restaraunts, I've heard folks from other parts of the country order and say, "I'd like a glass of sweetened tea."  And when I've been in other parts of the country, I've had waitresses ask me if I would like sweetened or unsweetened tea.  Here if you ask for tea, they bring you sweet tea.  If you want unsweet you better order it that way.
