It is old news but jerks are still trying to sell them. I bit on a Craigslist add a couple months ago. Drove 65 miles one way to buy a "NIB Mark 4" Well as it turned out the scope was counterfeit. I called him out on it and things got tense for a minute. Then I showed him the page on Leupold's website on my iPhone. It was a carbon copy of his scope. He changed his tune after he saw the web page. I wanted to slap the guy silly but figured it was not worth a trip to jail. Especially since I had my Glock on my hip.
Protect yourself - if you're buying a Mark 4 ( or any other " questionable" Leupold) make them send you a picture of the serial number and call Leupold to verify.
By the way, all the fake Mk 4s I have seen have the same serial number that is nothing like a real Leupold serial number.
find everyone that has anything to do with this and
make 'em buy everyone they sold one to a new real leupold
if they can't do that put 'em in jail forever + 100 years.
this bs has got to stop, i know it's buyer beware, but enough is enough....
Several years ago, a friend bought one. He was heart broke when he found out how bad he got shafted. Took a baaad hit on the resale. By the way, they are pure POS.
