Just my input on this subject:
I just want to say that it is a lot easier in open fields of central Texas where I was raised than here in the woods and swamps of Louisiana. The videos that I have also seen make it seem a lot easier. You can see the coyote coming from a ways away and are capable to set up for the aproach.
Here with the woods and swamps, you are lucky to see them untill they are on top of you. Then you have to be weary of your motion because you all know how fast a coyote will turn tail and run.
Now I will say that I love mt FoxPro FX3. I have 5 hunts under my belt with the FX3, and 4 coyotes called in. I have had to change the way I set up for them. My sucess is on the rise.
Now what really sucks, Louisiana has a lot of public land managed by the state. You can not hunt predators during any form of deer/turkey seasons. Then you can only hunt them during an open season like squirrel season and only use that calliber allowed during that season. The wildlife and Fisheries will be the first to mention that the lands are over pop with coyotes, but they make laws to hinder you hunting them
What a load of BS!
