Coyote hunting in MO or IA?

I am headed to NW IA on Thurs (Nov 3), from CO, for some pheasant hunting. I am leaving from there on Nov 8 for Chillicothe, Missouri until the 10th. I was wondering if I could tag along with anyone between there that is going to be doing some coyote hunting. I have a Savage 22-250 that I bought for coyote hunting, but I've never done it because we don't have many yotes here... and I got hooked on bustin' prairie dogs with it... I'll trade you a prairie dog bustin' trip.... Thank you!

PD buster, you have a ton of yotes around you. I lived in Northglenn and hunted many times around the area, access is tricky, but believe me there are many yotes around. I found one digging in the trash one night after partying on 16th street down town. There are others around you (TR, NASA, Pikfisher, Loncruise) who all hunt. One year I pulled several yotes off of the pawnee national grasslands east of Ft. Collins. Try calling the platte River bottom, Farmers tend to allow hunters on property as well. Also eventhough they are meant for Pheasant hunters a I have done well shooting yotes off of the Walkin areas, especially after the pheasant season has ended....

I wish you luck finding someone to take you, always fun to meet and hunt with new people in new places.

Thanks for the info. I live in Broomfield, and most of my hunting and contacts are out near Brighton and I have talked to a lot of residents there and they said there is a state trapper that keeps them under control there. I guess I'm just not looking in the right spot? I wonder if one of the PM members that you listed would help me out... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I'm not looking to take someones hunting land, just areas of Colorado to talk to ranchers where there is yotes... maybe show me the ropes... any help would be GREAT!
