I find I'm getting to the age that I've shot enough coyotes and bobcats, but I still love getting out and calling. Then I started taking my video camera. I'm a still hunter at heart, so this allows me to go where the slob hunter don't go. It makes for a lot easier calling when the game doesn't expect you to be there. I'm more interested now in the game inside the game. That is, how close can you get them to come in?
Here is a video of a stand I made from a pile of rocks. The wind was blowing strongly in my face as I was hunkered down. I noticed a coyote answering my call from about a quarter mile. I limbered up my camera and waited. You'll see what happens. As I was videoing, I was slowly beginning to stand up as I knew he didn't know where the call came from. Here is the video:
