Gosh. With all the different names, next time I see one and finally decide what it is, it'll be too late to shoot/kill/harvest/ambush/dispatch/murder the cute little critter/varmint thingie.

fwiw... I call them dogs a lot of the time and quite frequently will need to stop and explain to the casual ear that "NO I DIDN'T SHOOT SOMEONE'S GOLDEN RETREIVER. IT WAS A COYOTE."
