Coyote with a long bow

Did anybody with direct-tv or OLN catch the Tred Barta show on hunting yotes with a long bow? Personally I think they went about it all wrong! I bet if tred came down to arizona he would of been able to get a dog within 25 feet. That show is pretty good but I was disapointed in this episode! Just wondering if anyone caught the show.

They were hunting in the low mountains of Colorado I think, but all the spots they posted up at just seemed wrong, they finally posted up around a dead horse carcass. The guide took a coyote with a rifle but didn't let tred stalk up to the dog, which probably would not of worked. But they did have a really cool rabbit decoy. It was real "stuffed" bunny on a flexible shaft of some sort connected to the hunter by a string, so the hunter could wag it back and forth, pretty cool, worth watching the show for.

Saw the episode a month or so ago. One thing about his show is I don't really care if he bags anything it's always fun to watch. Love his attitude with hunting and fishing. I'll agree that I don't think they set him up to well for a bow kill but I don't think it's their specialty either. Was disapointed when they would not even let him attempt a stalk on the yotes feeding on the carcass but understand that they were looking at the situation as a predator control situation. Now the episode where he takes a grizzly with his long bow at less than 20 yards is a blast to watch. Don't miss it.

how bout the one where he went hog hunting with a knife? now that was crazy. the dogs had a hog trapped and he jumped on the things back and jabbed the knife right into the hogs heart. blood starting pouring out like crazy.

now thats what i call hunting!

I saw the show a few months ago and I would think that if HE were going to do a show on hunting coyotes with his longbow he would have at least done a little research on the subject. He dose appear to me to go off half cocked most of the time, I don't think he has a very good grasp on Huntng and the outdoors, as someone said earlier he should have been able to call a coyote with in 25 yards or less and even kill it. I also think the guide on the show was about half full of baloney, But it is as most outdoor shows go, most are made by guys only trying to make a buck,

Phnxyoter, you got one thing right, I probably have hunted real close to your backyard. My best friend lives just outside of Phoenix. Cant tell exactly where because im not giving up my honey hole. But I have called in over dozen coyotes in the last year when I was last out there and 25 yards was about the furthest I had to shoot! i also dropped a bobcat eight feet in front of me. I LOVE YOUR STATE BUDDY!
