Coyotes and cat hides in the summer and spring

I was curious about the hides of yotes and bobcats in the warmer months.

Are they worth anything when going to sell them? I was going to start doing some trapping but wanted to know if anything I caught was worth skinning out and selling??

Thanks

You'll get a fraction of what good prime pelts are worth. Plus, in my opinion, you need to allow time for the animals to reproduce and raise their young. I don't doubt you can trap coyotes all year there, but are you sure you have a year round season on bobcats?

I see alot of coyotes when Im turkey hunting in the spring and the ones that dont have mange arent very furry either.I dont think cats get mange as often but the ones I see during the warmer months wouldnt be worth that much even if they were legal to hunt during that time.I let the coyotes have their young and wait until it gets colder to hunt them when their coats are full even though they can be hunted year round.I also make a mental note when I see a bobcat in a certain spot so I can be the first one to that area when December 1 (cat season) comes around. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gifScouting an area and kind of gettin an idea of where alot of predator activity is going on helps a bunch when its time to start callin them in again. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

They will be worthless, probably worth less than a single dollar. I doubt you will find anyone that would be interested in buying them. Leave them alone until mid November. Use the time for trap mods, preperation, obtaining permission, scouting, etc. Take care

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gifhe may not really care if we do or do not like to hunt them in the spring or summer, that was not the question. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif. no, they are not worth much of anything this time of year.
