COYOTES AT NIGHT OR DAY

I would say during the day because Ive killed more during that time and seeing exactly what Im shooting at is a def plus. I still love night hunts though because in terms of sheer #s, Ive called in much more coyotes.... And the red eyes charging in is pretty exciting as well !

I was about to ask this same question. We have all the gear to hunt during the night so that is not an obstical. But from what I've read people say hunt these the same times you would hunt deer? Is this just because they dont prefer calling at night? Or are they moving more around dawn and dusk?

I've called and killed twice as many during daylight. Same holds true for bobcats at night. Have no idea why but call alot of game in so I'm not going go into speculation as long as i keep them coming

I have better luck when I get out and drive the country roads and find a fresh track in the snow before daylight, and track it long enough to determine what section of woods its in and then call to them within the first hour of daylight. I actually do more calling at night but don't kill as many then. Including last night 3 setups no luck.

In the East there is definitely more action after dark, not to say its impossible to get some during the day, its just harder...

They both work. Its just whatever you prefer. Ive had more luck during the day, but thats probabaly because ive hunted more during the day. Cats are easier at night. Just my opinion.

We kill alot of coyotes at night, but daytime is definately my preference. I focus on when the coyotes are moving and responding good. Sometimes daytime is awesome...sometimes they are only turned on at night.
