What are some of the brands of batteries everybody uses in their gear? Does it make a difference between the cheaper batteries you can buy in bulk compared to say duracells for like $2 to $3 a piece?

Primary CR123 have about half the capacity of an 18650. I'd look at the mAh rating, I believe 1500 mAh is about the best you're going to get. If they claim more they're only blowing smoke up your......

Rechargables RCR123s are about half the mAh rating of a primary CR123.

Buy a "cheap" and a "duracell" compare them.

Always buy from a reliable source, only cheap batteries I run are in my TV remote.

Had a mess of cheap ones go soft on the shelf after a couple years, that shouldn't happen with lithiums.
These are what I use now panasonic c123a , time will tell but they're looking good so far.

Had really good luck with the Tenergy 40 pack from Amazon. The Surefires are hit and miss. More miss than hit lately. I use the Tenergy in all my Trijicon EO Thermals. They have advised us against using the Surefire batteries.

I bought a dozen of the Surefire from primary arms i think it was. Used them in the SICO Radius and have had nothing but problems. Switched to Streamlight brand and no more issues.
I found the Tenergy 40 pack on amazon for $44.80 so ill order a pack of them to test out.

A friend of mine found the sure fire brand at a good deal on the 12 packs. But i cant remember where or how much. But i would look around and see if i could find those again. It was more than worth it and i think they are good batteries.
