Crow season

I called the DNR line yesterday and ask the question about WMAs, then I asked if I could hunt crows on Federal Lands
and the gal stated that she seen nothing stating that you could not. I don't understand the reasoning. Also she stated that state forest land was also ok.

Thats good to know. Make sure you read the signs on the lands that you intend to hunt, it should say there. If you read the signs on WMA's it says on the sign that there is no tresspassing from March 1st through I think its Aug 30.

One tactic I like to do is hunt on the ice. There are a lot of lakes around that have lots of trees and no or just a few houses. Drill some holes in the ice for the dekes and hide in the trees. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif We used a four wheeler to get around and that made it easy to make a lot of different sets in one day.

I'm not sure but I think they changed the law to allow crow hunting on WMA's in March. I can't put my finger on it in writing at this moment. I don't have a copy of the new laws. I think it should say something about it on the MN DNR website though. I'll look when I have more time.

I no longer trust the call in MN DNR, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I once called in around DEC and asked about using lights, I had forgotten what I had read in the book, so I was too lazy to look again, and just called. She said yea go ahead, this was a (CO),(I cant remember her name or # unfortunatly) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif so I was like awesome, then I did look it up in the book because something seemed fishy. Wrong!!!, how can they be wrong I thought? So I called back and someone said nope can't use lights. I was on my way to buy a gun light also. I was pumped! Also called my buddy and said what I had heard, ended up looking like a idoit! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif So I wouldn't beleive everything you hear from the DNR unless you call 5-6 times and average it out. It shouldn't be like that but that is why I only trust my reading skill anymore. Also I graduated from college w/ degree and I have a hard time understanding some of the wordage in the MN rule book. I can't imagine not having a diploma or a doctorate! I find myself reading the same thing 6x's to try and understand. Maybe I'm stupid or something! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

the book you get is not the full book of the laws in MN get one some time and read it, you'll be just as bad off as they are!!!!

I know I've got one form the 80's

I am not sure about the WMA's but I did look up the seasons and the early one is from march 1 to 31 and the second is July 15 to oct 15 from what I can tell
