Crows & Owls Enemies or good Neighbors?

Odd, neat, and intriquing all at the same time. I'm guessing the urge to nest and mate outweighs the neighborhood you do it in.(?)

The young ones are going to be hungery when they leave the next. Why not build next to a food source? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I dont know about owls but I know that crows can will and do kill new born calves.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif never heard of that

Maybe in these tough economic times the critters have had to make compromises? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif Those young crows are 'bout the ugliest things I've seen all day. Actually, I'd never think owls and crows would nest so close to one another. Interesting!!!!

I would find that had to believe... How could a 2 pound crow kill a 85 pound calf? And where is the cow when all of this is happening?

Ive never heard of crows killing calves but we had a problem here where I live several years ago with buzzards killing calves...

crows dont like any other birds as far as im concerned. I've seen them chasing owls and hawks all the time. See starlings and black birds chasing and pecking crows everytime I look outside.

I hate crows with a passion. Going to start blasting them on sight pretty soon. There is a flock of about 100 that roost behind my house. Drives me wild but they are pretty good at locating the turkeys for me though

I love crow hunting..Ive got a couple crow sounds on my foxpro...I just put out some decoys, turn on the foxpro and let the games begin... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I have seen crows kill calves and one day last winter when it was really rough I found a herd of sheep all bucks. They were still alive but 90 percent of them didnt have any eyes. They had been all pecked out. They all died. They do the same to new born calves. Doubt me if you want I have seen it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

If you folks want to whack some crows, check out All Predator Calls. He has decoys, calls, cassettes, CD's, camo and everything else you'll need. Our Custom Call Makers make crow calls on occasion, too. Crow whack'n can be fast and furious at times, but it's always fun calling them.

I like to see crows, owls, any kind of wildlife, gives me the sign that there is more out there you don't see..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I think it's awesome that a ecosystem can support enough animals that they have to shack-up right nest to each other.........pun intended on the "nest-next"!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Nest of crows (5 in the nest)

I suspect it has something to do with the Liberals either changing their zoning ordinances or some sort of commie desegregation policy that is forcing them to live so close to each other.

Could be some cosmic aligning of the stars.. Next thing you know, Wildlife Tech owners will be having picnics with FOXPRO owners.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
