Google Dura coat that will take you to Laurer Custom they sell a kit with a Video that gives full instructions. Or you can Krylon it first dissassemble the rifle wipe the whole thing down with mineral spirits Use a base coat first then follow with other colors as needed if cammoing the rifle or two or three light coats if one color clear coat is always good as a sealer use a matte clear and make sure it is compatable with the base paint your useing. That is the high and low end of painting a firearm your self. Personally I would go the Dura coat route since Laurer sell a complete "kit" with the paint and stencils and instructions all you have to add is a air brush, 15 bucks, and an air supply. and I think the clear coat is extra you can do two rifles for less than a hundred bucks in the patteren of your choice.
