Has anybody ever seen a CZ 527 Lux without iron sights? I saw one and couldn't figure out if it came from the custom shop or was a special run or maybe a rebarreling job/ Any thoughts?

Does it still retain the barrel band the rear sight was on? Here's a pix of the Lux that CZ sells today. It's got much simpler fixed sights than the 452 22 long rifle Lux's have. Perhaps the original owner had a smith turn off the rear sight band and remove the front sight.

I do like the longer barrel's on my varmint rifles. Probably adds nothing to the accuracy, but does seem easier to swing for me.

In the 452 they offer what they call a Style model that is the lux in stainless and synthetic without sights that is like the lux in appearance.

The Style is not stainless, but nickel plated and has a 22.5 inch barrel. CZ says it's the same action and barrel as the American model with a synthetic stock. It has the same forearm as the Lux, but the buttstock is different also. At this point CZ isn't yet making any stainless rifles, but who knows what's in the future.

Here's the link to the Style on CZ's site.

I've been shooting a Lux rimfire now for several years and last year added a 527 Varmint in 204 Ruger. What great guns. The 452 Lux has one of Erik Brooks trigger kits in it and it breaks at 1.5 pounds just like ice. The set trigger on the 527 is set at 6 ounces and the unset part at 2.5 pounds. Both are some of the best triggers I've used in the past 45 years.

It dosen't look like the iron sights have been removed. Also the barrel has no writing on it. No caliber designation, no warning language, nothing. The serial number is on the receiver and thats it. If it has been rebarreled it is a perfect job. I don't know what it is.

My 527 varmint has a proof mark on the right side of the barrel just ahead of the reciever and the caliber on the left side, 204 ruger. There are no other marks on the barrel so I would say it has been re-barreled.
