Dan Wesson revolver value?

I have a Dan Wesson model 15 with adjustable rear sites making it a target model (I think) in .357 mag, 4" blued in very good shape. The barrel tool and shim are with it. no box. How much is it worth? Gonna try and move it at a gun show this weekend. I'm seeing between $350 and $400 in GunBroker if it is a mdl 15, it was made in Monson MA around 1980 from what I can tell. Dan Wesson has no record of serial numbers from the Monson plant.

Those are good strong accurate revolvers. Back when I used to shoot IHMSA there were a lot of them being used for that sport with most of them being in .357 Maximum caliber. Very popular with the long range revolver shooters.

I saw an 8" M15 at a Boise gun show and they guy was asking $400 for it and the DW case that the gun came in. I was tempted but I have other .357 revolvers that I have not shot in years so I passed on it. Rather sorry that I did now. Fine gun.

I had a 6" M15 Dan Wesson I shot so much I shot it out of time. I was bummed about it back then. Now I'm kinda happy about that. To shoot a strong revolver like that loose in a few years is a pretty good feat. I cast a whole bunch of 160 gr. SWC bullets and burned a bunch of #2400 all loaded on an old single stage Rockchucker to accomplish that. It was a very accurate revolver.

I'd be above $400 and try to be closer to $500. It may be hard to find a buyer at the gunshow though. The tables will only offer a portion of the value, as expected.

How about listing on Armslist for your area? You can let it ride a while and maybe get a wider audience.

Your gonna get low balled at a gun show. They(dealer) can't/won't give you what its worth. If you take it to a show, find an individual to sell it to. You have a better chance of getting your asking price for it.

Thanks for the input. I knew it had a following and wasn't for everybody. I will be selling it at my table not carrying it around trying to hustle it. And if it doesn't bring value it'll just go back home with me. I'm going to consult a local gun Guru , Art Petersen, and see what he would try to get for it. I would really like to get $500 but we'll see if anybody even knows what it is!

Sold at the gun show for $550, I'm happy with that. There were 3 guys who knew what they were looking at, luckily one had a hand full of hundies!

Well good for you! I guess I am still living in the dark ages when it comes to firearm values.

Just a few years ago I was at a local shop where the owner had just taken in a 5 screw pre model 27 S&W .357 Mag with a 5" barrel on it. He said he would sell to to me for what he gave the guy towards his trade on it and that was $450. Yes I bought it. One of the less dumb things I ever did I think.
