Dark phase red fox

The landowner and I killed this dark phase male red tonight. I have never seen one with this much black color. His stockings were solid black and he had a lot of black and grey in his haunches and a solid black belly. A very unusual and beautiful fox.

That’s very nice! I haven’t ever saw one with that much dark fur. Definitely would be a pelt I’d keep.

I've just about quit for this year. Only went last night because it was the last night before the time change.
