I am new to this sight. Thinking of geting a decoy and need some input. What do you think is the better decoy edge expidites yote of flambeaus lone howler? I need somthing that will stand up in the wind and will not tip over.

I have the Lone Howler from Flambeau and the only thing I dont like about it is, it hard to carry ( not heavy ) just bulky. But Ive looked at the yote from EDGE out of the box and its not as good.

Not meaning to argue, Ben, but I like the Yote Coyote by Edge better. It is so much easier to transport, and I have had those big old males lay their ears back, raise their hackles, and come in looking to fight. I think it is more realistic looking. I hang something fuzzy out of its mouth and hide the ecaller right next to it in a bush, and they can't stand it when they see that yote with some of their supper in its mouth. A friend of mine in Georgia was using the Flambeau decoy, and he got one of the Edge Yote Coyote, and he likes it much better too.

Whichever one you choose...
Please be very careful when using it!! I'd hate to hear you became the victim of an "accidental" shooting. There are a LOT of people in this state who would shoot at either of those decoys, thinking it was the real thing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I never said that the Lone Howler was better. In my opinion, and where I am, I like it better... I've never used the yote may be better. I just didn't like it.

Ben

thanks for the input. let me know what you guys think. but i really want to know is will it stand up in the wind or will it roll into oklahoma.

I think that the yote has a stake with it. The Lone Howler doesn't have a stake but it has four legs...

Ben, I said I didn't mean to argue, and I am sure you don't. You can take the Edge yote decoy and the fox decoy both in a small bag, stakes and all. I usually use a small tripod to hang everything, so hard, frozen ground and wind is not a big factor. I have found that lots of times there is no bush or tree to hang the ecaller on and if the ground is frozen hard, it makes it difficult to use stakes. I keep all the decoys that I ever use, the tripod, and various scents in my decoy bag. I don't use them on every stand, but there are times they contribute to a successful hunt.
