Deer Food Plots - What is your preference

I have been planting food plots the last few years and I'm becoming a big fan of clover mixes (red, white, ladino, & chicory). My food plots are in southwest missouri and the deer are used to eating clover in the cattle pastures, so that helps. I have had deer feeding in the clover plots thru mid December.

Anyone else have a favorite food plot recipe?

Good luck this fall,

What ever grows well! Here in TX, we don't get quite enough moisture to bring clover in healthy. Last season was probably out best, it was a mixed bag of soybeans, milo, guara, and wheat. worked well. i say if your deer are used to feeding on clover in pastures, then stick with it, it ovbiously is attracting them. but you might mix in a high protein source with the clover to aid in mass of both body and racks!

Depends on where in Texas you are. We got 80 inches here last year. 50-60 inches in a typical year. Clover will grow plenty well here.

I prefer mixes, both summer and winter.

Summer- Iron & Clay cow peas, Alyce clover, brown top millet, sunflowers.

Winter- Crimson clover, Austrian winter peas, perennial ryegrass, winter wheat.
