deer stand harness

Okay I got a used stand, pretty nice off craigslist for $20, however unlike when you buy a stand at the store, it didn't come with the safety harness. Im not sure why but I feel very uncomfortable in it without one. I climbed up 25' into a tree the other day to tie a rope off so we could cut it down and not hit the garage, but sitting 15' up in the deer stand has me feeling uneasy. Especially with a gun.

Anyway's on to my real question. Is there anywhere you can buy a reasonably priced harness. The only ones Ive seen are like $70-$150. They have to be available cheaper than that.

Shoot me a pm with your addy and I will send you one.
I have a few extra laying around that come with our new stands and you are more then welcome to have one. They are not the latest/greatest technology but they are brand new and they do the job.

Always, always, always use a harness when in a treestand. I am an avid treestand bowhunter and will never get into a stand without one, never.

Did you buy a climbing stand? If you did it is also a good idea to tie a small rope connecting the upper and lower sections together.
Imagine being 15' in a tree and your foot platform slides to the base of the tree. Not a good situation to find yourself in.
Kenny.

Got your message, you should have your harness by the weekend.

I use some that are similar to that in design. The only problem is that in Ohio we are not allowed to use screw in steps attached to the tree, we have to use ladder sections. The sectional ladders are a safer way ti get into a stand but they are pricey.

We use a lot of double ladder stands and cover them in camo burlap. I have found that the doubles are a great way to get the kids in the woods and they are very safe.
