Desert Multicam Cerakote Job

Well, I've had a Desert Sand base coat on my rifle for about 2 years now and it's held up GREAT, but I finally decided to do a little camo for the prairie of western South Dakota.
It's loosely based on Multicam with more tan and much less green because we simply don't have much green in the fall. I couldn't bring myself to paint the NXS but after it was done, I wish I would have. This summer I will probably do that as well.

There is FDE, Coyote Tan, Federal Brown, and Hidden White with special blends of each one to get the colors I wanted.

Not exactly how I pictured it, but for my first time using an air brush for a full camo pattern...I'm pleased. Click the pictures and you can see them a little larger.

cbass that is one bad&*^ looking rifle...at first I thought you posted a picture of a brushpile if the scope wasn't on there I would have had to look hard to find it.

great looking gun. I did a duracoat on my 700 22-250 and did it all white including the scope. its pretty cool when you can set you gun up in the snow and all you can see is the bipod legs.

Now there's an idea!!!! I need a fall camo gun AND a spring camo gun, and a winter camo gun, and.....
The sickness is maddening!

Nice paint job by the way.

Looks great CBass, PM me your address and I'll get a stock in the mail now that you're practiced up, hahaha, well done.

that is sweet. I want to do a camo job on mine as well. I have a guy down the road 20 minutes thats dips guns but i have also thought about sending it off to get a custom paint job. Wish i had the patience to do it myself

I'll probably do the NXS this summer when I have more time, and it did actually take me a LONG time because I made sure every layer got a chance to dry before I moved on to the next one.

I was going at it for about 15 hours, with periodic breaks in between the action. Watched a couple movies, had a few beers, went to a 4 year old's birthday party for some ice cream cake, visited my grandma. yada yada yada...but start to finish was a LONG time.

I'm thinking about building my own oven this summer so I can use the oven cure kind. Its suppose to be even more durable than the air dry...(which is AWESOME)

Ah man, all these AR posts are killin' me

That is an awesome camoflage coloring for the fall.
Those pics make it seem part of the background and blend into it great with no blotchy looking areas.
Very well done.
