Did Remington make a stainless, factory blued BDL?

Someone has offered for trade a Rem BDL 7 mag stainless, then blued at the factory. I looked in Blue Book and could not find any referance. What would the approx. value be?

IIRC, the very first early 7mm Magnum Remingtons did have a stainless barrel that had some sort of blue/black finish applied at the factory. They did this because the thought at the time was that the stainless barrel would erode slower than a carbon steel barrel with the new magnum chambering, that was a critism of Winchester's 264 Magnum.
The blue/black finish was to try to maintain some sort of classic look in fear shooters would turn away from the flashy and radical for the time stainless barrel. You might want to check the year of manufacture for the rifle.

Some of the early 700s were in fact made with blued stainless barrels, I have seen several but all were in 7mm mag. I don't if they came in other calibers or not, BTW the ones I have seen had a small heart shaped proof mark on them and I was told that these were sourced from Hart barrels but I haven't verified this with Remington. I would think that the value would be the same as any other 700 in similar condition, maybe a slight premium for the stainless.

Remington also made the 700 BDL in 17 rem with a blued SS barrel up to about 10 years ago. I have had two of them and they both out shoot my latest 700 classic in CM barrel. I also picked up a left hand 264 BDL with the Blued SS barrel and gave it to my dad for a Christmas Present. It is a real shooter.

I would place a value of $250 on that rifle. A guy I used to hunt with had one and it was not very accurate. Keep in mind, if you want to rebarrel it you are limited to the large bolt face size.

Can't "blue" stainless the barrels are colored by some other process but they are NOT blued. I have seen some early Ruger stainless rifles with black recievers they are blued carbon steel with a stainless barrel.
