I had the factory barrel done it is a TC venture 22 250 into a AI 1@12. It is a 40% degree can I buy the Lee set and use the full length die to just neck size my brass. I know I will have to adjust it before trying. Or should I but a neck sizing die? I am going to fire forum my brass. And I have got a bunch of 52 gr Berger HP in it for coyotes. Anyone have a load for the bullet. I have varget benchmark tac h4895 RL15 imr 4350. Got a can of imr 4064 coming to try. Will take all the help I can get my first AI rifle. I have had the rifle and the work done to it for a while. Just been working to much. Thank.

I use 37 grains of Varget with a 52 grain Berger. Never crony'ed but accuracy has been great. I have one group of 5 shots that was a .460 at 200yds. Like I said, one!! It is an accurate load and no bad effects.

Hi and thinks I bought the 52 gr varmint/target yellow box they have a better BC than the varmint 52 gr orange box. Have you shot a coyote with them? I have a bunch of varget and 52 gr bullets. Will the Lee die work or do I need to buy the Redding die?

I use the Redding bushing dies for my 22-250AI's but the Lee collet neck dies works great, also you can use it on 22-250 and the AI version

You're gonna need a SET of dies. Redding bushing dies work very well. Initially with new brass size the necks only, using a die that has an expander ball.

Your gun may or may not like someone else's load....more than likely it won't be best in yours, you need to find that yourownself by shooting. Fireforming load, start with a max. load for the std. 22-250 and work your way up until you find best accuracy, watching for overpressure signs along the way. Best powder for me has always been W760, and now RL15 which is magic in that cartridge.

Without a doubt, the 22/250 Ai is a magic case with unreal accuracy and speed from many, many powders.

I consider it the premiere coyote rifle with a 55-60 grain bullet.

I look at the Lee 22 250AI die and the Redding 22 250 AI die. I fount a set of Redding Die is a 3 die set I think it has a neck sizing die. The shop has had it for a while and mark down to 66.00 for 3 set die for 22 250AI 40%. If I bought a Lee set I could just use my regular 22 250 neck sizing die? I have a bunch of varget and RL15 on hand. A guy told me to try imr 4064 is that the wrong powder? Thanks

Fer Chrissake just get the right dies.

Some people like varget, it's never been that good for me. Of everything, RL15 has been the very best in my 22-250's and 22-250AI's.

I can take the 22 250AI Lee set and set the full length die to just neck size can't you? I like RL15. I use RL10 15 19 22 in a lot of my guns good powder.

Maybe. You may have to full length size it first and possibly be a good idea to anneal it too.

Yes, smoke the case and adjust the die down until it just misses the neck. That will get you started but eventually you will have to have the correct dies. Probably around the 3rd or 4th loading.

A regular .22-250 neck sizer will not work, but a Lee Collet Neck Sizer will. 4064 is a great choice for a powder. I had slightly better accuracy with H4895 though. My powder picks would be H4895, 4064, RL 15, and Big Game.

You should get the Lee 22/250 collet neck sizing die instead of fooling around with readjusting your FL sizer, and while you are at it, get some lock rings with a screw in it so you can "set" your Full length sizer.

Sorry guys I call the die ya are talking about a neck sizing die. It comes in a yellow box with a bullet seater . Am I right you have to billon the die out to get it to work. That is all the neck/ collet Die's I have but one. What powder should I start I can get win 760 h414 the by ramhot with the coyote on the front one guy said it would work. I am shoot in 52 gr berger HP.
