Difference between a DPMS Gen 1 and Gen 2 Lower

I am doing my first AR-10 build and please excuse my ignorance but I don't know the difference between a DPMS Gen 1 or Gen 2 lower. Help please.

Gen 2 is a completely different animal, smaller than the LR-308 series rifles.

Great idea that seemed to fizzle out.

Hardly no aftermarket stuff for the Gen 2.
