Back in the 60's I watched a couple of deer crossing  a small lake in the U.P. one of the deer fell through and was fighting like hell to get back up on the ice. It didn't take long to attract the Ravens. They attacked that deer with a furor until he was to worn out and started to eat. They are a very, very smart bird. Some Ravens may not be up to snuff on being shot at the way the old crow is. The crow migrates in the winter and is harrassed alot more than the Raven who doesn't migrate and most places is not allowed to be hunted.
