Difference between AR-15 and AR-10 Triggers

I have been looking on brownells web site and some triggers appear to work in both platforms. The AR-10 is a DPMS LR-308 AP4. I measured the pins and they are .154 but the hammer is much larger than AR-15 triggers. Is the hammer the only difference?

Can I get an afteremarket AR-15 trigger such as a Rock River 2 stage and just use the bigger hammer or is there other differences that I am not aware of. Do I need to get a hammer specifically for the AR-10 platform? Also is that big hammer needed or will the AR-15 size hammer work in the AR-10?

Thanks for the help.

The AR-15 ones will drop right in. The hammer is bigger and they make the "special 10/308" triggers to make sure that they have a big enough hammer to ignite the 308 military ammo with really hard primers. If you wont be shooting any of that the regular one will work just fine.

Thanks for the info guys. The bigger hammer makes sense. I thought they were the same but it was not clear to me.

I am going to weigh my options as finances improve.

Thanks

I just received the RR trigger from Brownell's and put it right into my DPMS Oracle 308. Drops right in and feels way better than stock. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.
