I've seen pix of cutaways where it looked to be the other way around. I think the way the things are cut apart/ground down, etc. has an effect on how much jacket thickness we think we are seeing on the cut edges, ie, I think the jackets "stretch/pull" sometimes, or not so much, and appear to be thicker or thinner depending on how the person cutting it away does it and what tool is used. I see no reason for Hornady to lie about it. Shoot and be happy.
