Could anyone help me on how to mix the dirt and antifreeze together(how much to how much)? And could you do the same with sand?

Just use dry peat moss to bed and cover, garden centers usually still carry it in the winter if you ask them to dig it out,.. Peat won't freeze unless it gets wet of coarse,

cheap easy to use and no need to mix anything.

Decided to try peat moss yesterday.Had not not been trapping, too cold(thought traps will freeze) and deer hunting.Set three dirtholes on way to stand using peat moss as bed and cover.Bingo!Nice red fox this morning.I'm sold on this idea.

Like,call-m-all,said.Waxed dirt under the trap, poleyester fiber under the pedal, just enough buckwheat hulls to cover pedal and jaws and finish off with waxed dirt on top.Never will freeze up,unless you set it right in a real watery place.Mine gets rained on,snowed on,and still goes off below zero weather...Just remember, never set your traps in a low spot, where water will constantly run into where you set the trap. One other thing, you don't need no pan cover, when making this set and no wax paper under the trap,i see to many guys do this and it just makes matters worse. The ground needs to absorb the water and melting snow.
