DIY.. Wolf hunt?/predator hunt

I would like to a predator hunt somewhere in the west. I would like to have the availability to kill several different potential predators. What state would be a great option that has lots of public land to go on. I understand I'm going in blind to this but I'd like a week away with some friends to do it. I'd like to have a chance or be in an area where I could call coyote, fox, bobcat, cougar, bear or perhaps lucky enough that a wolf may be in the area. Any suggestion? Have any of you traveled like this to predator hunt?

Idaho. Tag is only $36 and hunting license is around $160. That's where I'm headed anyway.

In Montana you'll need a tag for bear ($350), cougar ($320 and $50 more if you kill one), and wolf ($50...a deal!) and a trapping license ($250 and only available if your state has a trapping license available to MT residents) to shoot a bobcat. While seasons may overlap, it'll be difficult (in a week) to hunt areas where you'll have a chance at all of those critters. I'd say concentrate on a couple (like wolves!) and go for it.

Stay away from Montana u gotta be rich to hunt there if ur a non res. I'll stick to washington

It seems like Idaho will be cheaper but if I'm going to take a week to hunt and fly across the country I'm not going to let a few hundred dollars stand in my way. Montana seems interesting. I'll have to look over my shoulder for grizzlies depending on when I go.

Wyoming....you're tempting me. The deer hunting in the upper Midewest has been horrible. I usually do 1-2 out of state trips a year, but I'm also thinking about a predator hunt next year instead of the deer hunts.

I have lived in Idaho, now just across the river in Oregon. I still hunt there every year. I was also stationed in Alaska while I was in the Army. I would say if you can afford it Alaska you can hunt wolf, brown bear, black bear and lynx. You need to check the current regulations about if you need a guide or not. They used to require one for brown bear and wolf, but I do not now if the still do for wolf. Idaho has some decent wolf hunting. The best time is when the snow is deep and take a snow machine and go!!!!
