Do I need a hunting licence to hunt in New Mexico????

Hi, guys I can't find the info on the DNR home page for NM. I think I remember guys saying that there is not season And no licence required. Thanks for your help!!
 
Don't mess with New Mexico. You must have a non-resident license to shoot coyotes. The 3-day license is $51.50, and the annual is $113.50. Also, once a non-resident shoots a coyote, you are not allowed to move it, skin it, or strip the tail. There is no season. There IS a season on furbearers. If you want to skin your coyote or take a fox, you need the tag which was either $200 or $300 last year. You will have guys tell you not to worry about this, but one of my friends is the Wildlife Services officer for Socorro County, and he assures me you are just asking for trouble. Very little about the NM regs make sense, just don't try to play with them. I hunt over there at least once a year on an annual license.

What part of New Mexico will you be in? Are you coming down for a big game hunt and want to shoot yotes, or just a yote trip?

Hi, Calypso Thanks for the info. I emailed New Mexico's DNR and the said the would send me some regulation but I never got them. That's very salty. I think $5.oo sound's better in Colorado. Hi NM Kid I will be staying in Pagosa Springs Colorado Sept 14-21 for vacation. I though I would see if I could nock of a couple yotes.

Pagosa Springs is pretty close to me. Things have been cooling down real nice here, so I imagine its a good bit cooler there. We have been hitting about 40*'s at night, so up there it could be 35*. So dress accordingly. I have had the best response with a coyote in distress. Prey sounds should be picking up.

Hi, NM Kid. With everything going on in New York. We will be canceling are vacation. I will have to try and make the trip next year. Good luck this year!
 
Rusty let me know when you may be heading down this way. If you can be here about late october that would be the more productive time of year. I would reccomend hunting the navajo rez, it will run you 35 bucks, and thats good for a full year.
