My wife asked me what I wanted for christmas and I told her a subscription to predator xtreme magazine.I have seen previews for it but have never really looked at one a read it. I was just wondering if it informational entertaining and just what everyone thought of it?? Or maybe there is a better predator magazine out there I dont know about. I would like one informational plus entertaining love reading how too's and hunting stories in general. I dont want something that is nothing but gear avertizments that a normal hard working family man could never afford. Let me know what you reviews are.

I don't have a subscription but I read the digital version.
Predator Xtreme Mag

I find it entertaining. The articles are very well written & every so often there are great tips. I have to say there are a lot of advertisements but that is to be expected. There used to be one around here called Predator Nation that I liked better but I haven't seen it in my area for quite some time.

I used to have a subscription to Predator Xtreme. I found some of the stories good reading, and even informational.
But, then it seemed to get over-taken with ads.

Just last week, at Salina's Wal-Mart, and a couple of the Salina Dillon's grocery stores, I noticed Predator Nation on the shelf.
I didn't buy one though, so I can't speak for it's potential.

I like it. The articles are well written and entertaining. Lots of ads though, like the others have said. They do cover all differant types of predator hunting. Air gun, rifle, bow, and they do give some good tips. They cover coyote, fox, bobcat, wolf, mtn lion and bear.

Predator Nation on the stands at Wally World here too. I have mine, but saving it for a winter day. PN isn't published on a regular schedule. I quit Predator Extreme years ago. They were good, got everyone signed up to multi year subscriptions, then went to all ads. No mag subscriptions ever again for me. I look at it lightly on the newsstand and if ther's something worth reading I buy it. Magazines are just like TV. How many outdoor shows are just infomercials-a lot. Magazines are going the way of the do-do bird and so is TV. Remember when cable TV came out? It was so much better than network television because there were no commercials. Now, we are paying them to watch commercials. We are moving to online content and streaming video from magazines and TV. They will both be victims of their own greed. I (and you) can learn more on this and similar forums than either of those. Rant over.

Ya more info would be on sites like this I agree, but not always on line would like to jus thave reading material. I dont see any of the predator magazines at our local wally world may have to check out a bigger one like rolla. Maybe I can read both snd check out which I like better.. thanks guys for your response

Shawn, check with country mart. They always have a better selection and I picked up predator nation in there just the other day. Pretty good read by the way. Sometimes predator extreme has good stuff but there are lots of ads.

I have Predator extreme mag. My kids renew it each year. I wouldn't buy it..

I say this because if you read each cover page, then read the articles, and afterwards ask yourself if you know more, or could do what they are talking about? Most of the time NO.. It's usually so high level or more past stories of hunting coyotes with old rifles in flannel in the 60's and who they tried hunting with. Last issue had an article about E-calls, and it was a look at me, i hunted with these big name people, and talked about record players and tape players and the first Foxpro.. Why? how does this help me?

I like Predator nation, it's slightly better..

I find that more and more i read the Fur Fish and Game mag more and more. for the reasons above.

I also for the most part have stopped buying any of them on my own, since they are all talk no information, or limited useful information i didn't know before reading it.

The other thing that drives me nuts is that once you do sign up for these, 6 months later they are sending you renewal notices and then even if you do send it in, I get more and have to check to see if i already did. If they can't keep it straight, i can spend my money somewhere else.

I like to read them all
Seams like there is a LOT of bragging In any of them.
Most the info sounds the same and more for starters .
NO one seams to hunt the way we do anyway.
It's still fun to read them.
I get to see the new ideas and products too.
Been after coyotes for 40+ years, thing tend to change .
