Does anyone scan with ATN BinoX?

Looking for some feedback. Bought a thermal first and am considering these to scan with until I get a divorce(kidding of course) or my budget allows D790 purchase.

How is the built in illuminator ?
How far can you get PID ?

If you use them what do you think? I just need them to pick up eyes and ID at the furtherest 300 yds and that is really pushing it prolly most likely under 200 yds most of the time.

Thanks in advance

I have the ATN THD 640 2.5x25 Binox. I'm not sure you're talking about the thermal binox however. I've been coyote hunting forever but am pretty new to thermal. From my experience so far, the binox work but are a little laborious for scanning. Having said that, they are way better than just a gun. I don't have anything to compare it to at this point, but I have an ATN 640 scope as well and both the scope and binox don't seem to handle the humidity that well. I'm in the process of getting a Flir Breach monocular and plan on mounting it on a helmet. I also have the battery pack for the binox. It works, but is pretty touchy and is kind of a pain to have to hit the button on the battery every time to turn it on.

Thanks for the reply. I am referring to NV model. I am doing things a little unorthodox for the time being. I have a thermal scope but I am looking for a temporary NV scanner until I have the funds for a D760 at which point I will use the thermal unit to scan.

Not to get off topic, but how do you like the THD binox?

Avoid ATN like AIDS.

If you want to complete your setup on the cheap get a PVS-4 instead of D760. There’s a gen 3 unit on snipershide right now for cheap. Like $1300 I think.

Good look, but just gonna save my pennies and get something a little newer.

I'm kind of new to thermal, but I'd say the THD Binox are average at best. The quality of the actual binoculars isn't anything special. It could be user error, but I don't think the image quality is all that great either. Humidity and minor fog seems to really effect the image of the binox, and my ATN scope for that matter. I personally don't think they were worth the money I spent. Having said that, I don't think I'll get rid of them either. They do work and from what I've seen the re-sale isn't real great so I might just keep them for now. I'm also going to buy a Trijicon Reap IR scope, so once I get the Flir Breach Monocular and the scope I'll actually have something to compare the image quality to.

I have the ATN night vision binoc's and they work pretty good for scanning, they are not near as good as a Thermal but they will work, the problem with the Binocs is they eat CRI23 batterys and are heavy. I have since went with a Pulsar Thermal scanner and Pulsar Trail XQ50.
