I have been working on a dog box the last few days. All I have left to do on it is put in a vent, just have not found anything I like.It did not come out perfect as far as square but it will last a long time.I made it out of some panels that have 3in thick foam and aluminum sheet metal skin.

The box looks good, but put lots of vents in it, you are way more likely to "cook" a dog, than "freeze" one.Even in the winter.
Be real careful. I have heard lots of stories of dog boxes getting "hot", and dead dogs.
I leave my vents open except for the coldest times,(below zero) I always have some straw in the box.

Its sure cheaper than buying one. I build all mine but they are aluminum square tubing and all open. Dogs kept in a hot box seem to be harder to catch.

In hot weather, we put a bag of ice in the box. Does that box have the foam exposed inside? if so it wont be in there long. ; ) You may want to line it with 1/4" plywood.
