Dogtown vs. Varmint Nightmare Extreme?

I'm in the market for some volume bullets in .17/.20/.22 calibers for a pd shooting expedition in a couple of months, and am looking at Midway's Dogtown bullets versus Midsouth Shooters' Varmint Nightmare Extreme.....

Anyone have experience or knowledge on the pro and cons re these bullets?

The Midsouth products have a better price......
 
I have used them. From all of my shooting experience with these is they are not the most accurate but sure will get the job done.
 
I find them to be nicely accurate in a 204. They are exactly the same bullet. They're made by Nosler. I have both on hand. MidSouth usually sells them cheaper than Midway. Once again they're exactly the same bullet just marketed under different names. Dave

I have also used both in 204 and they are the same bullet. And they shoot pretty well, but not as well as vmax's or nbt's. I use them for calm days and dumb dogs, and save the more expensive bullets for when I need to reach out there. The bc is really low, so past 200 yards or so they start dropping fast, the difference is noticable.

I've also used the 50 gr midsouth, and they shoot ok, but not great out of any of my rifles. I haven't worked that hard at finding a load for them, though.
 
I can't speak for the Midway version, but I have used the Varmint Nightmare for a few years on the PD fields. I have had great success with them. I have always shot the Varmint Nightmares, I have not used the extremes on the dog fields yet. Only punched a little paper so far. I will be taking some extremes to South Dakota in May. The difference is that the regulars are SP's and the extreme's are HP.
 
I've used the Varmint Extremes in .17, .20 and .224 with excellent results. Granted, they're not quite as accurate as some other bullets but I've always been able to get loads under an inch and some closer to 1/2". For the money they can't be beat. I just wish they'd come out with something in 6mm.
 
Midway has softpoint 55gr bullets in 6mm.......
I have used the midsouth .224" 55gr varmint nightmares, and the 50gr varmint nightmare extremes. They both have shot well for me. The 50gr bullets in .224 have a horrible B.C.
 
I have put several thousands of the midwayusa 50g dogtowns into p-dogs out here over the years with great success.
They have gone sub moa in the 3 Savage .223s I have owned as well as in my R15 I had.

I also am using the 55g 6mm (.243") in my 6x45 with sub moa using 4 different powders until I sold that also.
I got another shipment of these yesterday.
