I put in a internet order for some calls and a chair with "The predator hunting store' (they also sometimes refered to themselves as the hunting store) four or five days later I got an email saying I had given them an incorrest c/c# and to call them so I called them 3 times and left my #, no responce. Figured they were on east coast and tried earlier and got thru and was told they would send the order that day. put in another order with another outfit minutes later and 3 days later I got the other order but nothing from the predator store, waited 3 days then sent an email. they said they didnt have an order with the # I sent (it was the # they gave me) so I then sent a message saying this was their # and they said now needed my name. that day my order arrived, the calls were there but no chair. I then sent 2 more emails asking where was the chair and got no info. so then I called and the women (Lindsay) tells me the chair is out of stock. So I then ask why wasnt I told this(the receipt listed the chair with nothing saying out of stock). She said all out of stock items they just canceled. So I then complained about the whole rigamarole I had to go thru plus the fact that now to get the chair I would have to pay a whole new shipping charge (the chair was only $7.99 so shipping on just that would of been almost as much as the item) Her responce was "Well Okay" and she was obviously not concerned at all at her poor service. Sorry for the long story but anyway imho you should stay away from the "Predator store"
(or "Hunting Store)

Hello Fisherman Bob,
The lousy service is duly noted. Thanks for the heads-up. I hate to see any company panned in public, but maybe that's the only way to get a decent level of service at times. Best wishes.

Watch these guys too. Bushrag. They make ghillie suits and kits to make your own. Very slow to ship, not up front about stock status even when asked and you get lucky if they answer the phone. Moral of the story, if you are going to order from them, don't ask for anything other than regular shipping as it just isn't going to happen and you will be out the money even though they tell you that they are going to upgrade your shipping. Huh? You upgrade my shipping so I get the product 4 days after I was supposed to get it, and still charge me the original upgraded shipping cost? How does that make sense?

Just so everyone knows, Cabellas has the same kit for the same money, but they are out of stock. If you are going to get a ghillie kit for the summer or fall, order from Cabella's. You get your stuff on time from them.

I didn't have any trouble at all getting my Ghillie suit from bushrag, but that doesn't mean you didn't.Just wanted to point out,if you'll do a search on Google, there all kinds of Ghillie suit companies out there. Some use jute, some use burlap. The biggest problem is finding one reasonably priced.Mine from bushrag is very nice and I'm sure will do a great job for me while turkey hunting and yote hunting.

Also thought I'd mention, I just purchased a "Halley Caller" coyote howler, and the darn thing is so easy to use and so realistic sounding, it's amazing.Only 13.00$.

I have had a similar problem with a BUCKSHOT 35 camera. Mine was stolen, so I contacted the company with the S/N, and my info, figuring the thief might call, and get info on how to use it. I sent them 3 emails, left 3 messages, and have yet to get any response. Any type of reply would have been appreciated. I even called them for information on its setup, and getting that was like pulling teeth. They are just not the most helpful company. Guess all they want is your money.

Seldonm Ever,

I called the folks at BushRag and asked them if the items I wanted to order were in stock. I was told that they were. So I ordered. I paid for 3 day select delivery. Three, then 4 days passed and I sent an E mail. They sent me a reply saying my order had shipped to some place down south. I live in NH. So I called them. They told me they gave me the info for someone elses order, that one of the items I had ordered was out of stock and my order didn't ship untill the day before (now 4 days after I ordered). Then they told me that had upgraded my shipping to two day.

Well, I may have been born at night but it sure wasn't last night. I called - talked to them - was told the item was in stock and I paid for 3 day delivery.

When the item ships 4 days after you order it, it's not a great deal to have them upgrade your shipping to 2 day. They should have had the common courtesy to call or e mail me and let me know the item was out of stock. They should have refunded my 24 bucks shipping, and they should have shipped the item at their own expense. If they would have done that, no problem. But now they can live with me telling everyone that ask about them to be wary about what they order and how they get it shipped.

Will I order from them again? Maybe, but I wont pay for anything other than standard shipping. And believe me, I wouldn't reccomend that anyone else do so either.

Like I said,I had a good experience,you had a bad one.

The Ghillie suit is nice though, don't you think ? I got mine in mossy oak.

Still, there are many other suppliers of the same product on the net.

The suit is a 5 1/2 or 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. It will work for what I am going to do with it with a few modifications which I have already made. Mine was in the Woodland Camo. Too much green, and a bit too dark. The Rifle Wrap is very good, probably the best of the three products I ordered from them. I would highly recomend it if you do not want to paint your rifle. The Camo Kit worked well for he back of my Pack Lounge, and I had enough material left over to make another wrap for my shooting sticks.

As for the exdperiance...I am sure that if I had ordered the suit and went with regular shipping everything would have been fine. So folks should order the suit and understand that there are better products on the market, and that they will be at the complete mercy of BushRag's shipping schedule. Order early, only pay for regular shipping and I am sure everything will go fine. Eventully your order will get to you. Barring any injun trouble that is.

It's my first suit, and I'm happy with it.It's only for turkey and yote hunting.I also bought the face net with bushrag, and the riflerag as well.Mine came out real nice, lots of greys, etc.,in the suit.

Is burlap a better suit,or jute? I would think Jute is,because it frays quickly and breaks up the outline more ?

I did notice right off the "carpet dye" smell of the jute string used to make the ghillie.I solved that problem by zipping the ghillie up in a garment bag with some fresh earth scent wafers for about 4 months.

Jute is burlap. What they do is separate the individual strands of burlap from strips about two inches wide. If you make a suit out of burlap, over time it will fray and unravel much like a jute made suit.

I think the burlap suits in browns and grays are good for late fall, and the jute style suits better when things are greening up.

Did you see the white winter suit they have? I want to get one of those and just go sit by the cross country ski trails in one of the state parks near me. That and a howler, and I bet it wouldn't take more than a couple of weeks to end up having the whole place to myself to hunt coyotes in the rest of the winter.

Anyway, the modifications I made to my suit were to add some lighter greens to it from burlap that I dyed and then separated and tied in. I sewed one side shut and then put a D ring with a snap hook on the other to close it once I had it on.

Making a face veil is pretty easy with the jute. Just get some 3/4 inch elastic at the fabric store or Walmart and tie in the jute like you do for the rifle wrap, but closer together for about 8 to 10 inches. Then you can tie the elastic behind your head and have a veil that will allow you to get a call up to your mouth yet still keep you covered.

You can do someting similar to make leg gators and covers for your lower arms if you are using a poncho style suit. Just use elastic and tie in the jute as you did for the rifle wrap, and then wrap it around your arms and legs. I use velcro to hold it around my wrist.

I have to admit that there are very few products that I have ever bought that I didn't think I could make a bit better with a few modifications. That's half the fun of it. Now, if you want to hear about a great product that needs very little if any modifications, just ask me about my Pack Lounge with the Turkey Vest attachment.

What's the story on your pack lounge and turkey vest combo /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif ?

My ghillie suit goes almost to my feet,at least it hangs way below my knees,so I don't see a need for leg gators ? I never saw the white one. Also,my ghillie goes on like a sweatshirt, and it has a hood as well.

OK - for years I have been wandering through the woods and sitting on everything from stumps to old pieces of carpet to every seat probably ever invented. None ever seemed to allow me to stay sitting still long enough or keep the old back side warm enough. There was never a really good place to rest my back either. Then one day I won an item at a raffle called a Pack Lounge. It is a back pack with a metal frame that is shaped like a backwards L. Under the bottom of the L is a very nicely padded seat that snaps in place. When you get to where you want to sit, you unsnap the seat and let it fold down, and the you either just sit down or take the pack off and sit. You have an instant chair. Anywhere you go, you have a padded seat and back rest. A really great idea. But, and here is the big one for me, I hate having to stop and take off my day pack to get what I need out, or to carry items in a pants or jacket pocket. Enter the Turkey Vest Accesorie from the same company. It attaches with 4 clips that come on the pac lounge and buckles in the front like a belt. You have two large zippered pockets, one on each side and a bunch of other pockets as well. It's light, stays out of the way and everything that you need at a moments notice is right there at your side. Now the company that sells this set up is called Little Bighorn. You can see it at
www.little-bighorn.com

Leave the dash in the middle or it wont work. I can carry my JS Caller, Ghillie suit, lunch, and every thing I need in the pack lounge and my hand calls and other gear in the Turkey Vest accesorie.

Bad side to this set up? Well, it takes a bit of getting used to with that L shaped frame getting through tight places, but for that I have a solution too. I don't wear it when I know I am going to be in tight brush stalking or moving about a lot. For that I use the Deer Hunters Bandoleer by the same company.

Now, I have nothing to do with this company, and as a matter of fact they messed up some shipping for me once too, but of all the gear I have bought and thrown or given away, these two items are by far the best I have ever used. Perfect? No, but I give them a 9.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. My pac lounge was in the Mossey Oak Shadow Grass, and I am seriously thinking of getting one in Mossey Oak Break up or the Hardwood Camo. I think they have made some improvements with them since I got mine. Go check out the web site and see what you think. Again, I have nothing to do with this company but they do make an outstanding product IMHO.

hehehe, went to a local dealer, saw an Epeards turkey vest hanging on the wall, with the lounge frame.Asked him what he wanted for it,he sold it to me for 45$ because I'm always buying there and he wanted to get rid of it.It holds my e-caller and ghillie suit,as well as my other calls, etc.

It's about like the pac lounge, except it's a large waterproof game bag in back instead of a back-pack.I think I like it better than the pac lounge, because my stuff is more easily accessible.I plan on using it for coyote hunting and deer season as well.
