Double Star rifles?

I was in a gun shop in Paris KY today and saw a gun that looked just like a RRA Varmint A4 but it was a Double Star made in Winchester KY which is about 15 minutes from there.

So I went to a Winchester gun store and they didn't have any and told me that Double Star didn't have a retail store, you have to order over the or mail order.

Does anyone have any info or experience with these guns?

Double Star is a spinoff of J&T Dist. Double Star sells complete AR rifles while J&T sells AR kits. If the DS rifles are as good as their kits, they should be a good product. I recently bought a J&T kit and the parts/fit/finish were perfect. I got a nice catalog with my AR kit and it's got all of the info on DS in it. MI VHNTR

Yep, MI's right on the money, Jesse starnes is CEO of J&T, Teresa starnes is the CEO of doublestar, doublestar sells the ffl required stuff, but its all a quality product.
Here's some info that you may find interesting, The only makers who build they're AR's totaly in house, even building they're own barrels is olympic, All the rest buy parts from the same handful of vendors and put them togather, not taking anything away from anybody cause for the most part they are all good.
All vendors make some mistakes, the difference is in which of the big names, (IE J&T, Doublestar< armalite, Bushy, and yes even RRA, handle it through customer service. I've talked to jesse and he's an A1 guy, will do anything to help you get what you want. J&T and doublestar use shaw barrels, RRA uses wilson, model one uses shaw and harris if you want it. it comes down to who's barrel you like, they're all good, the oly SUM barrels are hard to beat also
