Alright guys no photos at this time, but I just acquired a dpms 260 rem with a 20" barrel. I have no personal experience with this rifle or chambering. I am asking for some advice.

1.) Who handloads for the 260 rem in the ar platform, I am looking at the Amax 123, berger 130, and some 140 gr. bullets. I understand the powder capacity and the 140 seated to magazine depth may be an issue, just looking for someone with experience
-I am thinking about viht N150, varget, h4350, and R17 does anyone have experience with these powders in the 260 rem?

2.) What type of accuracy is expected to be achieved with 260 rem in the dpms platform?

3.) Does anyone have pictures of the dpms "pimped" out.

I think thats it unless someone else has some good advice to share with me on this subject.

Yes, with mag length rounds, the 123 amax' will likely get you closest to the lands than other bullet. With H4350 they work great, around 42.5-43.5+gr, nice bolt speed/function. In mine, couldnt push the 140's to the velocity needed to surpass the 123's at 1k yds. Tried R17, not good results, but were faster. Full length sized, neck tension was a big deal, .002 was good.
Had tried a 20" dpms barrel, it did around 3/4 moa, give or take some.

H4350 works best for my two .260's. They are bolt guns so i can't help there.

Both are 1:8, one is a 20" lwh the other is a 24"
tactical. Hornady 140gr sst, interlocks, and amax's at 42-42.5gr seems to be what they like best.

The 123gr amax's at 42-43gr works as well but most of my loads are 140's. What twist is your barrel?

The accuracy should be good in a hunting context. It will probably do clover leave 3 shot groups when you get used to it. (100yds) The 8.5 twist should let you shoot the light and heavy bullets as well which should help with the col as well.

Their upper recievers i have had in the past were a 1/64th thicker than other mil-spec recievers i had at the time, ( i measured five different brand recievers one time out of boredom). These were .223 however.

The bc and sd of the .260 makes for a flat shooting round and it should be fun.

Yeah, I think will be fun as well. We are having a sniper type match at the club this summer. It is not a vintage sniper match. I plan on using this rifle for the match.
