DPMS, AR-15 Panther .308

FWIW, our department has switched from shotguns in our squad cars (I'll leave my personal opinions out), to DPMS AR style .223s. Granted, they're not the .308 you're asking about, but they did a bunch of research on all AR-type rifles and they went with DPMS as a result. I sure enjoyed training with it, and our SWAT team has some in .308. If I were to get one, I'd go with DPMS, again....FWIW.

I have an Armalite AR10T 308, (T) meaning target model. Mine is a 16" barrel built by JP Enterprises, it's very accrurate and reliable. I have seen the DPMS 308 rifles and they are of exceptionally high quality and reports on accuracy are second to none.

If you want one or two get just do it, you won't regret the choice.
From what I have heard,DPMS uses a dedicated mag so high cap mags are not available, however that may have changed since they were put on the market.

AZ,
I have shot them all and the DPMS shoots much better than any Armalite and as good or better than a SR-25 that costs 3 times as much money.
I would go with the JP trigger option if you get one. The trigger pull on mine is really bad but it still shoots real well.
