Greetings,

I need to rebarrel my AR upper. I dont have a lot of money either. I have been price checking and for the money the best buy on match grade 20" stainless barrels (8 twist)are DPMS (midway usa) and Rock River. Any body have experience with either of these barrels? What kind of groups are you getting?

Thanks!

put together an AR for my buddy last year, its a superior arms lower with a 20" dpms bull upper, total cost was about $640, he is very happy with the gun he claims it shoots .5 MOA, I think they both use wilson barrels, RRA just claims to certify their barrels more if I am not mistaken

I've read good things from Hi Power shooters on the 20 in. $175.00 DPMS SS barrel midway sells. I kinda favor the HBars contour over the Bull.

I have several factory DPMS .223's and .308's. All of them shoot really well. They don't use Wilson barrels anymore. When they did just the blanks were purchased and DPMS did all the work. The barrels on most of my old rifles were the Wilson's and they shot really good. Problem I have seen with the Wilson barrels was if you let them finish the product. Winchester factory barrels were Wilson finished and they shoot very poor.

Custom is the way to go. I would just save my money for a upgrade as Dan mentioned

ill toss in another thumbs up for DPMS uppers. I just got the complete upper 20'bull stainless from midway for 418.00. The thing shoots just awesome. Its a freaking heavyweight though. Really throws the balance of the gun off.
