Thought I would share a picture of a friends new DPMS. I met this friend ~18 months ago when he come to my place of employment to help with our shutdown. He was a little into firearms so I turned him onto the AR style of rifles with my DPMS Panther Bull 20..next day he`s showing me the rifle he ordered on his smartphone

After 18 months of waiting

he finally recieved the MK 12 upper; he said it arrived just days before he left for NE to help with shutdown again, he didn`t bring it with him and I asked what was you thinking
huh.gif
He had the wife mail it up here; before it arrived he and his father both went to town and bought new DPMS sportical models.
then came the upgrades/accessories for the MK12; Timney skeletonised trigger (4lb), Burris mount,Nikon 6-18,Haris Bi-pod, and Hogue Grip. I reloaded 12 rounds using 68g Hornady over Varget with Rem 7 1/2 primer. First load at 23.4g looked to be the best so I loaded 10 more 5 @ 23g is group at left. If the weather permits and time allows, we`ll see if he can try `the challenge`
lol.gif
all in all, not bad for him having just ~30 -40 rnds through it.

Pretty much huh? It reminds me of a time at a dinner (wedding reception) when I asked my Brother-in-Law if he had a chance to try his new (to him) Bushmaster. Then this other guy butts in and tells us all how anything but a ArmaLite is junk and not worth owning. Said he had a safe full of ArmaLite rifles and the last one he purchased for only $500.00 because the guy didn`t know what he had..bla,bla,bla..not sure but I think he was tied with another blow hard I once met; Very full of himself, I guess you could say.
Dont fret roode31; anyone who knows his azz from a hole in the ground will take anything he writes on the net with a grain of salt.
Thanks for the compliments everyone; I know he is so far very happy with his new rig(s)..and for sure he`s been bitten by the bug

I agree. I may load a few more rounds with a different powder, as I`m curious if that lower end load of Varget is kind of anemic in terms of velocity??? I never loaded anything heavier than 60g for my rifles. A reloading set up is next on his list of things to get.(unless he finds some other AR accessory he can`t live without first

)..hmm, 1 piece cleaning rod, something to hold the rifle while cleaning..etc, etc.
I`m certain he`ll be a new member here soon.

Yes, I believe so C.Jay..I forgot to ask him what that option cost. It does look nice IMO too.

I have heard very good things about them as far as ease of cleaning.
