DPMS Sweet 16

I don't have that particular rifle, But I do have a DPMS 16" bull upper. I bought it just for my son to use (he's a smallish 13-yr-old) because my 20" DTech was hard for him to handle.

Anyway...Was I surprised! This thing is a shooter. Quite a bit louder than a 20", but very accurate nonetheless.

DPMS 16" Fluted Bull Barrel 1:9 everything else is Bushmaster. Its a shooter for sure. It likes Federal 55 gr NBT.

I was torn between a 16 or 20 inch barrel and very happy with the 16.
It's definately a shooter as well and handles very nice.

I have a DPMS 16" bull that was made before they came out with the "Sweet 16" and it doesn't have the free floated barrel or the forward assist and it's set up with a 'hi-rider' upper receiver...

It's the one I use in competitions with cheap American factory ammo or my cheapest reloads (old brass) and it's always done me proud.

With good reloads or higher quality factory ammo, it will shoot even with the two custom uppers I have..

I'm not sure what model DPMS uppers I have, but there 16" stainless bull barrels stamped 223 1-9 on A3 uppers with float tube aluminum handguards, front sling swivel.

Both are very good shooters with the limited number of loads I've tried so far. RL-10 and 60 VMax's and RL-15 and 69 SMK's. I have'nt tried my little 30gr. Berger/4198 load in them yet.

My best friend has the Sweet 16, and it shoots sweet for sure! 3 rounds of Black Hills Moly's all touching at 100 yards is not irregular at all. It's a great preformer overall, although it can get a bit heavy to carry.

I have the sporter with flattop upper 16" and I love it. I reload and found the best load for it.
55 gr SP ( midway bulk)
25.6 gr Benchmark powder
2.260 COAL
Winchester WSR primers
This has been shooting 1/2" groups at 100 yards.
I assume you do reload. If so find a load thats close ( if this does not work for you) and change the powder by .3 increments it will make a big difference in groups.
