DPMS

I have a DPMS AR with a 24" fluted bull barrel and I love that thing to death!! I have had it for two years and two others who have shot it have bought identical guns. It is the most accurate semi-auto I have ever shot! 10 round groups are covered with a nickel at 100 yards and a quarter at 200 with factory ammo! You won't be disappointed with DPMS!!

That is a DPMS upper and a Dalphon (Mega Machine) lower. Also I installed a Chip Mccormic modular single stage trigger and that made a whole world of difference in group size.

Might be a shooter too (110 yards)

I almost forgot, my upper is a true .223 and is marked so. There is a difference between 5.56 and .223, (DPMS does not recommend using 5.56 in their .223 upper) just something to consider. This site has alot of info on the .223/5.56 www.ammo-oracle.com/
Good luck.

I've had a DPMS for years and it was originally a 24" upper and I've traded it for a 16" upper just for the manuverablilty. At the 2005 Tri-Gun Challenge, I was the lucky winner of an AR-10 (.308) that was a tackdriver as well and only sold it to get the .204 Ruger.

Needless to say, I'm a big fan of the DPMS line.

I have several DPMS rifles and they all shot really well. Believe them to be one of the most accurate out of the box AR going. Make sure you get a 1 in 8 barrel twist.

As you can tell Turtle is a genius!!!!!!! and a fairly humble man who only speaks the truth....

I have a DPMS Panther sweet 16 upper with a houge overmolded tube, it is mounted on a DPMS lower that has a ACE skeleton stock and it is all topped with a Nikon Buckmaster 3-9x40 BDC scope. I love the trigger job that LazyD did on it. I can tell you, that if you decide to buy one you will not be disappointed.

Here is mine......

Well I don't have one yet but I've got one on order. Should be here in another 4 or 5 weeks. I ordered the panther bull with 20" barrel. I think mine is coming with a 9 twist. Hope it shoots as good as the 8 twist you guys mentioned. The wait is killing me.

I had the 24" upper that was exactly like the one you are talking about, but it was stainless/black. It shot quarter size groups off the bench at 300 yards. Hands down the most accurate upper I ever had. I used Hornady 69Grain TAP rounds. I wish that I still had it.

have 2 of thier national match a-2's for service rifle shoots. LOVE EM! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

This is the first I have seen on DPMS in these forums, I did not know anyone else in the whole wide world shot them. I have one in a 20" with the traditional upper and it is one fun gun. Just ordered a HiPro upper from DPMS and a new barrel from Lilja, and I cannot wait. This "slight" modification to my existing rifle will shoot the eyes out of 'em. DPMS has a long history and their stuff is quality equipment.
