Rguns.net There is an Rguns.com, but it's a different store. Rguns.net has good prices that're hard to beat. I ordered an upper from them awhile back, I was pretty sure I ordered a light weight upper but got an M-4, the M-4 was $30 or so more which is one of the reasons why I wanted the light weight one. When I called them about it, the grumpy guy on the phone said that I got what I ordered and they were out of the light weights anyway. I'm pretty sure they switched it on me and I payed the extra for it.
Good prices, some good - some bad customer service. After reading several websites, they have a pretty mixed following. It's really hit or miss with them.
Remember, when you put a conversion in a standard AR type barrel, the twist rate is much faster than what a 22lr is designed for and your accuracy will reflect that somewhat. In a true dedicated upper barrel, your twist is going to be 1-12 to 1-14 and it has a real chamber. The conversion kit has a fake 223 case that fits into your barrel and the bullet goes into that fake case. I don't think there's any rifling in it, it's just a big jump to the barrel riflings.
I had to get an adapter from Spikes for my CMMG conversion that took the place of the fake case so it would fit properly over the Spikes barrel I bought.
Make sense? I guess I should take some pics so it's easier to understand.
