dusk vs. dawn

Im wondering when most people have most success. I have been calling alot in the early morning from approx 5 am to 9am, but seem to have more connects in the afternoon evening from about 3pm to 530pm, 530 is about as dark as I can still see through the scope. Thanks for ur responses.

Morning for me is definately best. I'm not to successful on the 1st set as it is just getting light, but from then till late afternoon are good times. For some reason real late in the day just seems to kind of suck.

For me, around here, generally mornings are more productive. But I hunt more often in the morning so it might just seem that way.

Later in the season, like about now, dusk hunts do good too. They can be real productive.

Then there is night hunting. It can be better than dawn or dusk sometimes if you got a good partner.

I have not had much success in the evening between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 seems to be my best time, followed by first 1/2 hour of light in the morning. I think the later time is beter here though because my hunting area is mostly small farms with a lot of roads and the roads and pastures are busy first thing in the morning with people feeding cows and going to work and school by 9:00 a.m things have really quitted down.

For me it seems that the first couple of hours after first light are the best. The coyotes that haven't found anything to eat the night before are hungry and respond well. Next best would be the last hour before dark, the animals are starting to stir and are looking for something to eat.
I have called them in during the middle of the day but it seems that you have to get close enough to wake them up without them hearing you approch.
I've also noticed that it helps if it is cloudy out instead of bright sun. Don't know if the animals feel more exposed on sunny days.
