What collar do you guys use?
What name brand do you like the best?
What one would suggest for a double duty.
What one has held up the best?
Or why you don't use one.
Sorry for all the Questions but I want to make sure I am not getting in over my head on this decoy dog thing.
Thanks guys for understanding. Steve

Don't apologize for asking questions. You want to get this as right as you can early in your deal.
Most here will strongly disagree with my choice. But, with some advice from a guy that I consider to be one of the best I chose a Dogtra 3500NCP Super X.

Upsides
-compact, handy remote
-good range
-0-127 shock levels
-vibrate pager
-good price

Works great for us. Downside is I don't think it is made in the USA.

For the purpose of safety...We never leave home without it! Literally use it every day.

Also, I got a lot of really good advice about the use of an electronic dog collar here. There are some very important dos and don'ts. I was directed to and read some good stuff. I don't remember where that info was, but I believe it to be critical.

Maybe the same guys who helped me can steer you to the same info.

Ditto. What I use as well. Had a "Sport Dog" collar and while it worked fine for about 400 yards. I watched a coyote bite on the collar receiver and crush it on Doc's neck one day and never replaced it. Still have the remote as a reminder to get something that is durable in this game.

On the bright side, it kept the coyote from grabbing Docs neck and killing him, so it was worth it.

been looking and can't find a collar that has beep, vibrate, and sting? would love to be able to comand cast as well as return and corrections. Even different tones of beep would work for different commands?

anyone konw of one?

I use a tri-tronics classic 70 exp and before that I was using an innotek 2 dog system. The couple things I like about the tri-tronics over the innotek are: rechargeable battery in receiver, you don't have to re-link collars to receiver after every charge and the receiver is a lot easier to handle/use. I believe innotek makes a good system but tri-tronics just makes a better one. The tri-tronics system has 6-stim modes, a tone, and accessory dial( to turn on/off tracer lights and some other options. My system gives me an honest mile range and I've put it to the test a couple times. The receiver is very user friendly with a turn dial to select tone or stim. modes and then a big colored button for each dog. I do even have to look at the remote and can quickly tone my dogs back. I believe any system you buy will be a good one but I highly recommend looking into the tri-tronics line.

I use tri-tronics too. Ive talked about it before, but I tried to save money and got a sport dog. After some problems with cs I got into the tri-tronics system. I bought mine used and sent it in to ger it refurbished. Cs replaced my whole system. Ive used the new system on a few stands and love it.
