Anyone used 243, 80gr eld vt bullets hunting yet ? Started trying them on new rig and group really good. Wondering if there worth the extra money. Thanks

I haven’t taken them out past 100yds. Just doin some powder testing and shot .6 group. I usually use reg vmax and wanted to hear from guys actually hunting with them and not a sales pitch. Wanted to make sure there worth the extra money.

I agree that they are a little too new to get solid information. I have tried the factory loads as well as my own in the six Arc and the six creedmoor in multiple barrels. Probably at least three different barrels in each. They were not terrible but I was not impressed compared to other loads. They were about MOA or maybe a bit wider at 100 yards. My other loads are good one half moa on a decent day. I'm very effective on the coyote and deer that we use them for. I tried the 62 eldvt in 224 caliber rifles and was not impressed with the terminal performance. Out of half a dozen I had three drop right there and three runners. Retrieve them all but it seemed like there was a lack of consistency on the expansion in the small sample. And even with that I wasn't able to get the tight moa that I have been able to with other bullets.

62s were just short of 3,200 ft per second and ranged from 100 yards to 160 yards

I picked up some 80 grains blems that I have a load worked up for with varget in a 22" 8 twist 243. Only about 3080 fps but they shoot well. Probably put thermal on it this November, then I should get some on fur testing in.

i got them grouping same size as my 87 v max around 3400 fps, But with 87s being alot cheaper i think im just gonna shoot 87s
