Anyone here use an electric shaver that that works real well? I am looking into getting one but not sure what kind. There are so many out there, i would like to hear some input. Its annoying to try to just manual shave when you are late for school or out of shaving cream. Thanks guys.

go to Sears and get you an air compressor,,a high speed sander and some 60 grit sand paper and you will only have to shave once every 3 months or get an air board and a "cheese grater" and you will only have to shave one more time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
but joking aside i have not used one in years so i would imagine with todays technology they should all work O.K. in a pinch, but if ya find a good one let me know

Hmm, I'd have to say such things are mutually exclusive. I've found that with an electric I would have to shave twice a day to equal the results at the end of the day that I'd get from using a blade. Also, if I went more than two days without shaving it's back to the blade as the electric was a waste of time at that point.

While I was deployed I got to liking the little 2 AA battery powered razor. Remington I think it was. It cost less than $10 and worked pretty good if used twice a day. And using AA's was nice as I didn't need to bother with charging it. If it ran low on juice, 10 seconds and two batteries it was good to go. The batteries actually lasted a decent amount of time too. It was a good field razor, where I was worried more about having the time to headspace and time my 50 properly and raiding a thermos of coffee from Joe's or the chow hall before rolling out rather than getting a smooth and close shave. Priorities, ya know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I gave up on electric razors 40 years ago. For the reasons already stated. They never gave me a good shave and IMHO a man shaving in the car on the way to work is just as bad as a woman putting on make-up while trying to drive.
You really don't need shaving cream either... Just make a good lather with hand soap, shave, and rinse it off... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I gave up using an electric shaver 36 years ago /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif......I also gave up using a razor blade shaver 36 years ago /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.......my wife has never seen me without a beard (married 32 years) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif......look at all the time I have saved /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

I have used a Norelco for the past 20 years or so and it does a better, faster job then razor blades. Tried the Remington and Braun, they are junk. You need a rotary blade unit at the least.

You should PM Weasel, he has a real doozie. I think it was made by Benelli. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif He said it was pretty close shave too if I read right. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The problem with electrics is that the manufacturers send all of their inferior bladed shavers to WalMart. Do yourself a favor and purchase the model you want from a authorized electric shaver dealer.

Well, if we are gonna get into that kinda stuff, i got lots of dirt on other stores like Lowes, Menards, Home Depot etc... but we arent getting into that, i just am lookin for an electric razor and i wanna know a good one.

Well, so far from the two responses that have helped i have gotten that a norelco rotary is a good choice. Any other opinions?

I can shave faster with a blade than I can with my electric. I have to go over my face at least two or three times with the electric to get decent results. I gave up on the electric and if I am out of cream, I just use soap like someone else said.

Of course you could always resort to ohiobob's idea and just be done with it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi,man I still use my granddad's folding blade. It is over 80 years old.Just a peace of leather and she's sharp as ever.
Thanks Clint.

I use a Norelco rotary too and just started with it a few months ago. If you're like me it will take about 3 weeks for your face to get used to it.

I've had norelco, braun, and remington.. I'm back to blades! I liked all of them at first, then gradually started to hate them!
