Just wondering if anyone has any experience with a Bushnell Elite tactical 2.5x16x42. pro's ,con's whatever info would be appreciated. I put one on my 22-250 savage max 1 predator, but haven't yet hunted with it. My eye's aren't perfect but it seems to me that my Leupold 6x18x40 vx-2 on my .243 is clearer. Thanks in advance.

I guess my inquiry sounds like an afterthought, but was just wondering what other shooters evaluation of this optic is,favorable , or not so much, for it's price point.

For the price point, everything in the Elite line is worth considering. There is the more inexpensive stuff and the upper level stuff but for what you're getting...it's all worth considering.
Everything from the one you got, all the way to the SMRS, ERS, XRS and LMSS.

I have not personally inspected that model specifically...but I have handled the Elite 3500, Elite 4500, DMR, HDMR, SMRS, ERS and XRS.
Sure, there are probably better in the price point, and there are obviously worse.
If you don't think it stacks up to your VX2...sell it and get another VX2. If you can deal with it, based on the $$ you spent...I call that a win.

As someone once said.
"This isn't you're grand daddies Bushnell."

Thanks for your input Cbass16, for its intended purpose, mostly coyote hunting I'm sure it will work well enough, most shots don't exceed 400yds.

I've had my share of Bushnell, I had the 6500 4.5-30 and now own the XRS 4.5-30, amongst several others.

To me, these bushys with the large magnification range like my xrs, they lose a bit of optical quality towards their top end, the last one, two, three or what not power levels don't have quite that vibrant, bright, colorful picture the first 3/4 do.

However, they're tanks, they've got great features, and bonus, you still have the magnification. It's far from unusable on 30 power, very far, so while many others may be 5-25's, I've got 4.5-30; and while they may shine their entire mag range, mine shines from 4.5-25/26 and has another 4-5 to cover my a$$ in further oddball scenarios.

Now in the case of my xrs, at $2k, for another $500'ish you've got the Vortex Razor two 4.5-27 power.

That is probably "the best," in this area if I'm being honest with myself, though you do lose some weight in your wallet with this vortex, it more than makes up for it being a... I believe 4 1/2+ lb optic.

So, I haven't owned your magnification version, but if it's anything like mine I've had, it's probably gorgeous from 2.5-13 and just a good useable optic through those last few levels.

Should be tough, with accurate adjustments, and probably loses out to a more expensive vx6 in the 3-18 power.

So it's a good clean value minded optic with great mag range.

Good rebuttal,calling4life, interesting comments, as said before, I don't pull the trigger on many yote's past 400yds. as they are usually called in closer. The closest 7 steps, the furthest 410yds.---Titegroup.
