Enclosed trailer inputs

Looking at getting an enclosed 7x16 trailer. Looking at the following: Look, Haulmark, Wells Cargo. Anyone have any first hand info on any of these?

I had a Haulmark 6x12 and it was not built nearly as well as a buddies Wells Cargo.
The last one that I bought, and still own, is a Leonard. It is built better than the Haulmark too.
I look at several things on a trailer.
How thick is the floor material. 3/4" treated is a must for me.
How thick are the wall panels. 3/8" plywood is much stronger than the cheap luan panels.
Z metal or tubing side wall frame. Tubing is much stronger and easier to attach anchor points to.
Spacing of side wall frame. 16" is better than 24".
Floor frame and spacing. Box tubing is stronger than angle iron or u tubing.
I guess that Wells Cargo might make an economy model like the Haulmark but I don't have any first hand knowledge about that.
I've never seen a Look brand.

Either get one that is as low as you can get away with or get a V-front. I had a tall 6x12 flat front and it was like towing a giant air brake.

Know anyone making a trip to south Georgia? Several Trailer factories not far north of me that sell factory direct for seriously reduced prices. In fact, you can call them and custom order trailers, and put together the package you want. Probably wouldn't pay to drive all the way over here from Arizona to buy one, but if you knew someone coming back from the Florida/Georgia/Tennessee/Alabama/Carolinas area with an empty trailer ball, it would definitely be worth looking at.

I bought one less than a year ago. The best bang for my buck was made by Star. You will get a better trailer for the $$. The options I added were: spare tire and carrier, e-track on the sidewalls, heavy duty back door, heavy duty transition plate, vented sunroof (it get HOT in there), and aluminum side vent covers (instead of plastic). Paid $6,800 out the door for the 7 x 16 tandem axle that is 1 foot higher than standard, with a V-nose front.

If you think that you need a 12 footer get a 16. Four more feet is always needed in my experience. Like Rocky said, some really good deals in Georgia. My buddy drove up there and got exactly what he wanted for half of what he would have paid here.

I like work and play trailers with an air conditioner and raise up beds. That way you can use that trailer as a hunting camp.

How long do you plan on keeping it and how far do you plan on hauling it?

Where you're at it's probably not a huge deal, but up here in NY with all the salt in the winter if you plan to have it more than 4-6 years it pays to go aluminum frame. Same thing with lots of long hauling, the weight pays off eventually.

In Az you might find a nice aluminum horse trailer. We use our 4 horse slant with living quarters to haul motorcycles and other things that we want to keep dry and locked up. Works good for horses too.
