Explain Single stage vs two stage triggers...

Going to get my first AR and don't understand the difference of a Single stage and two stage trigger. Which is best.
I like the lightest trigger pull on any of my rifles, so that gives you and idea of what I would like. Is there a link that shows pictures of how they operate each one. Thanks

Ditto here. I would like to know also. For hunting would it be better to have a single stage trigger rather than a 2 stage?

A two stage trigger has a takeup built in to it. As you pull the trigger back you feel resistance, that is the second stage. Two stage triggers are usually set to a lighter pull than a single stage trigger.

I like the 2 stage for hunting and target shooting,,like rj says above you pull through a increasingly tighter resistance, then it gives way to a space of no resistance,,then a touch off fire.

When im on a animal,i pull through the resistance, keeping the cross hairs on,,,he stops,i touch off.

Only hard thing for me is jumping from regular to 2 stage sometimes,,,because the ignition point in some standard trigger groups are not very consistant..............X
